Baby Cricket is Here!

I am quite delayed in posting this.  It’s been a little hectic around here.

On September 27, 2011 at 12:34 PM Baby Cricket was born.  She was born in the water at the birth center without the use of drugs and weighed 11 lbs.  That is not a typo!

She’s absolutely wonderful.  Big Sister is doing quite well with everything, too.

I will write more later.  We’re very much in the hectic newborn stage, so I appreciate everyone’s patience.

  1. What? No time to blog? Doesn’t the baby sleep?

I’m totally kidding. I’m so excited for your family. Enjoy that sweet little baby and come back to tell us about her whenever you can. I can’t wait to read the birth story, if you write about it. A water birth is what I envision for my ideal birth. Sadly, I had a c-section with Jackson, but maybe I can shoot for a water birth if there is a next time.

  2. I still can’t believe she was 11lb!! I thought Oscar was big at 9lb 6oz (he’s now 10lb 9oz at 3 weeks so still behind your Cricket). I find it amazing that we both had HG and we both had babies with a big birth weight. I guess everyone was right in saying that it’s the mum and not the fetus that suffers when you’re sick. I wonder how common it is to have bigger babies after HG, it makes me want to look into it more now. Well, not right now, as we’re in that crazy newborn phase too, but you know what I mean.

Congratulations again and I cannot wait to read more once things calm down a little and you feel ready to write more xx
